Maddy Trumble is PERFECTION.

Posted on: May 28th, 2012 by Patrick Fromuth No Comments

I don’t think words can express how incredible Ms. Trumble is; a gem through and through. After graduating last year from UofM she was a member of the 1st National Tour of MARY POPPINS understudying Ms. Poppin’s herself and has now made her Broadway debut in NEWSIES. I had the great fortune to work with Maddy at Michigan in Fromuth Production’s “STRIPPED: Songs searching the Spectrum of Soul” and in MUSKET’s “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”   Her voice SLAYS me to the core: crystal clear, colorful, and don’t even get me started on her control. If her musical prowess wasn’t enough - Maddy is a talented headshot/photographer and has been exceptionally gracious to me with her skillz.

I am SO happy for her, her bright future, and the LONG overdue attention she deserves. Take a look at her feature in Episode 1 of Andrew Keenan-Bolger’s new Girly Shorts where he teams up with his favorite ladies of musical theatre to chat and sing.

Absolutely breathtaking…This video shattered me. I may be a little biased with the whole friend and Michigan connection, but her being a FIERCE supporter for LGBT rights doesn’t help my propensity to melt into a puddle whenever she sings. I heard her sing this song live back in Michigan, and I can still vividly recall the emotional imprint that it left on my life. She truly is the Michigan Difference. I hope you enjoy this next video as much as I did. It is a frequent of mine. Follow her on Twitter

In the shell of a nut… she’s simply PERFECT.

I don’t know what Ms. Trumble fed her daughters but make sure to check out Maddy’s EXCEPTIONAL sister and best friend, Emily singing Say the Word. These beautiful sisters DEFINITELY ate their Wheaties…and maybe some batteries. They Betta BELT!

Teaser

Loose wires sometimes meet their frayed mates; not all connections are missed forever…

The wait is almost over… Ali Gordon’s One Woman Show opens this Saturday!

Ali Gordon’s MISSED CONNECTIONS explores those who pass into your life and perhaps don’t stay long, but stick with you — stick to you — for maybe a lifetime. The show weaves original monologues with songs with actual, unedited text from the “Missed Connections” section of Craigslist. Each segment, introducing a new original character, explores a different kind of connection — a phone call to a wrong number, a hitchhiker meeting a stranger, a date gone terribly awry — creating a fast-paced exploration of those who pass in and out of our lives.

SATURDAY, MARCH 24th at 7:30pm
SUNDAY, MARCH 25th at 3:00pm

Admission is totally FREE!

Warning: Adult themes and language — but we’re all adults here, right?

PEACE Out, Prop 8!!!

Posted on: February 8th, 2012 by Patrick Fromuth No Comments

“Proposition 8 serves no purpose, and has no effect,
other than to lessen the status and human dignity of gay men and lesbians in California.”

Proposition 8 is struck down in California! Sad that the appeals process means that there is no actual change as of yet, but things are moving in a direction towards equality!

‎”By withdrawing the availability of the recognized designation of ‘marriage,’ Proposition 8 enacts nothing more or less than a judgment about the worth and dignity of gays and lesbians as a class. Just as a desire to harm cannot constitute a legitimate governmental interest, neither can a more basic disapproval of a class of people. The issue is whether the majority may use the power of the State to enforce these views on the whole society through a law that abridges minority individuals’ rights. It may not.” — United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit
